A message from Melissa;


Having been born on a ranch, I was raised on farm-to-table meals and natural nutrition was just a normal part of my life. Meals took a whole lot more than just a trip to the grocery store. Food was comforting, in the best of ways. It meant hard work and family time. Sticky fingers and big smiles. 


Things started changing in high school when diet culture was shoved in my face from every direction. It was in commercials, magazines, and books, even slipping from the tongues of my peers and trusted adults. Like many teenage girls, I fell into the trap. I began counting calories and running every day, sometimes twice a day. Mom’s famous creamy broccoli soup was replaced with a plate of plain greens, and her fresh bread with a rice cake. The joy of family dinners and meals with friends disappeared, and my relationship with food spiraled out of control.


Too many of us have gone through this, and it's time for a change. Our culture has lost touch with the essence of meals. Nourishment is about more than counting calories; food is more than just carbs, protein, and fats. It's a gift from the earth that supports our mind, body, and spirit. Food fuels our victories, comforts us in loss, and empowers us through different stages of life. It energizes parents, sharpens students, sustains athletes, sparks creativity in children, and helps the elderly thrive. It creates space for us to feel our emotions, offers a shoulder to cry on, and provides lasting comfort. Food is a vital part of our lives in countless ways, yet instead of being celebrated, it often gets ridiculed


Over the years I have come to find balance in my personal approach to wellness, and have discovered a passion for helping others to do the same. Committed to continuous learning, I've invested time in advancing my education, becoming a Certified Personal Trainer and earning a Diploma in Natural Nutrition. I am dedicated to ongoing growth and hope to bring you with me for every step along the way!


My mission is to show you that food isn't bad or scary and illustrate all the ways it can improve your life. I’d like to remind you of your earliest encounters and approaches to eating, and help you to rediscover the ability to trust yourself around food. Most of all, I want to carve the path for you to find balance, empowerment, and fulfillment in your life, for life.

Expect whole foods recipes and be empowered to get active outdoors through lifestyle fitness.
